Security Update: New Data Safety and Privacy Controls Implemented: Your Data, Your Control
We’ve enhanced our privacy infrastructure to give you more control over your business data and ensure full compliance with local regulations like POPIA. Learn about our new granular data export tools, enhanced encryption protocols, and the centralized privacy dashboard.
At Pryseflow, we take our responsibility as custodians of your business data seriously.
In the digital age, security is not a static goal; it is a continuous commitment. As threats evolve and regulations like South Africa’s POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act) become more stringent, we are constantly upgrading our infrastructure to protect you and your customers. Today, we are announcing a major security update that introduces new Data Safety and Privacy Controls across the Pryseflow ecosystem. These enhancements are designed to give you more transparency, more control, and more confidence in how your data is stored and shared. This guide explores the key changes and how they benefit your business.
1. Granular Data Export Tools
You own your data. We believe you should be able to take it with you or move it between systems with ease.
Subset Exporting
Previously, data exports were often "All or Nothing." We’ve now implemented Granular Exporting. You can now export specific subsets of your data with a single click:
- Customer Contacts: Export only your CRM data for a targeted marketing campaign.
- Sales History: Export specific date ranges for your accountant.
- Inventory Levels: Export your current stock for a physical audit.
Secure Delivery
All exports are now processed in the background and delivered via a secure, time-limited download link sent to your verified email address. This prevents sensitive data from being left on a public computer or accidentally downloaded by unauthorized users.
2. Enhanced Encryption and Data Isolation
We’ve upgraded our core database architecture to provide even stronger protection against unauthorized access.
Encryption at Rest (v2)
We’ve implemented AES-256-GCM encryption for all business data stored on our servers. This is the same standard used by global financial institutions. Even in the highly unlikely event of a physical hardware breach, your data remains unreadable and useless to attackers.
Logical Data Isolation
We’ve further strengthened our Multi-Tenant Isolation protocols. This ensures that every Pryseflow account operates in its own "Secure Container," with no possibility of data leaking between different businesses on the platform. Your business is a fortress.
Visit the new Privacy Dashboard in your settings. Here, you can see a live list of every third-party integration (like Yoco, Paystack, or The Courier Guy) that has access to your data. You can review their permissions and revoke access instantly with a single click if you no longer use the service.
3. POPIA and GDPR Compliance Automation
Staying compliant with privacy laws can be a legal headache. We’ve built the compliance tools directly into your dashboard.
Automated Data Deletion (The Right to be Forgotten)
If a customer requests that their data be deleted under POPIA, you can now fulfill that request with one click. Pryseflow will automatically "Anonymize" their sales history (to keep your financial reports accurate) while permanently erasing their personal identifiable information (PII) from your CRM.
Privacy Policy Hosting
Every Pryseflow marketplace storefront now includes a dynamically generated Privacy Policy page. This policy is automatically updated whenever we make security changes, ensuring that you are always providing your customers with the latest information on how their data is handled.
4. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) as Standard
As part of this update, we are making Multi-Factor Authentication more prominent in the user experience. While it remains optional for now, we strongly encourage all business owners and staff with administrative access to enable it today. MFA is the single most effective way to prevent unauthorized account access.
How to Review Your Security Settings
- Log in to your Pryseflow Dashboard.
- Navigate to Settings > Security & Privacy.
- Review your active User Sessions and API Keys.
- Enable MFA for your own profile.
- Use the Data Export tool to verify your records.
